| What is Doodlism? |
| Starting to Doodle |
Your job as the one channeling consciousness is to first trust yourself. Always follow your inner voice. Secondly, enhance what is right there in front of you. Stay aware. Hesitation is the number one enemy of the style. Don’t think about it, just do it. You must win the battle over doubt in yourself, as this is the true test. I know it is hard to believe that you have the ability to create just as much as I, because we were raised in a world that breaks people down, instead of building them up. This world seems to show you what you can or can’t do, but the honest truth is that everyone’s dream can be fulfilled. Doodlism is here to inspire change. It can show reality and help you believe in yourself. Doodlism will teach you the key principals that will carry you toward a positive place.
#1 - Start painting with the lightest color you can create, maybe even a light wash. Now, using the widest brush you have, just paint. It doesn’t really matter where you paint, just paint.
#2 - Next, make the second lightest color you can. Paint. Sometimes you might follow the last line you painted before, or maybe just go where your inner voice is telling. Don’t hesitate. You shouldn’t have to think about it. You started with the largest brush. At some point, when it feels right, go down a size. As the painting progresses, your colors will darken and the size of the brush will decrease.
#3 - Create the next lightest color and repeat the same process. As you can see, you are slowly building the painting up, one color at a time. Here is the thing about color and laying down color- all colors work together as long as you never try to lay a light color over a dark color. Yes, you can put a light color down to highlight a darker color, but light color cannot freely flow over dark colors. This is one of the most important aspects to the process. That is why you start as light as possible and try to stay light for as long as you can.
#4 - While you are painting, be conscious of seeing areas that you see developing so you know not to paint there. That area is resolved. Also, the further you go into the painting the less you should let go. You should be aware of where you lay down your lines and how you lay them down. In other words, slow it down as you go along.
#5 - Do not try to create anything. Let the process create itself. You will see. Just emphasize what the process puts before you, and at some point the painting will be finished. Listen to your inner voice. The painting before you is your true essence. It is the positive energies that flow through you.
If you follow theses steps you will be successful. The barrier between you and success is when you try too hard to create instead of letting the process flow through you. Remember to always follow the fundamental rule of starting the painting with colors that are light, and slowly, darken colors and decrease brush size. It is hard to lay light colors over dark, and not have them look out of place. You can use lighter colors to highlight areas, but do go against the flow of the painting. To do true art you need inspiration. It takes will. The way is already there. Expect there to be as many tough times as there good. It is not all rainbows. Every painting is a test to see if we believe in ourselves. Believe in ourselves and believe in the forces that be.
